Andy Metcalf

Bio:

Andy went to University School of Jackson for high school and while there, set the Tennessee High School record with 72 goals his senior year as well as the Tennessee High School record for career goals (182).  He was also named Tennessee State Player of the Year in 2002 (senior year).  He played club ball for the Rangers in Memphis and won multiple state championships as well.

He went on to get a full scholarship to the University of Memphis.  There, he was voted All Conference USA Second Team in 2003, 2004, and 2005. He was also named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America teams in 2003 and 2005. Led the Tigers to a regular season and tournament championship in 2004, as well as the second ever trip to the NCAA tournament.  He finished 3rd all-time at the U of M for career goals (39) and points (90) and 2nd all-time in Conference USA history in career goals (39).

Andy was then selected 19th overall in the MLS Supplemental Draft by DC United after his senior year at Memphis.  He played one season, scoring a memorable goal against Scottish Premier League Champions Glasgow Celtic in a friendly at RFK Stadium.  After playing at D.C., he signed on to play with the Atlanta Silverbacks of the USL First Division.
